The seasons

  1. A long line of Himalayan snow peaks above layers of blue hills in the morning.

    Summer escape from the plains, and the New Year rush. Book early.

  2. Low cloud and mist drifting over forested hills.

    Monsoon

    1 Jul–15 Sep

    Green, misty and quiet. Roads can close for a few hours after heavy rain.

  3. A night sky full of stars above the dark outline of trees and hills.

    Winter

    6 Jan–end of February

    Cold, clear and sometimes snowy. The clearest mountain views of the year.

  4. White fruit blossom and fresh green leaves on a thin branch in spring.

What to pack

  • Warm layers all year
  • A rain jacket from July to September
  • Good walking shoes
